A native of Cincinnati, Dr. Grace Baluyot Kerr is a graduate of the Summit Country Day School. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Tufts University and her dental degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts.
"I'm proud to have attended an undergraduate university ranked in the top 25 in the nation and a dental program that produces clinicians who score in the top 7 percentile when compared nationally. It has helped me build a strong foundation in healthcare."
She received the American Association of Women Dentists award for outstanding leadership and academic excellence. Dr. Kerr continued her training at Tufts and completed her orthodontic residency there. Dr. Kerr practiced orthodontics in Boston for three years. Upon her return to Cincinnati, she opened her own practice in May 1996.
Dr. Kerr’s training includes orthodontic treatment on both children and adults, and she places great emphasis on gentle, quality patient care.
"It's important that kids feel relaxed and comfortable with their orthodontist. Kids will do important activities such as brushing their teeth if it's fun, so we do all we can to make kids feeel at home. I believe the positive experiences our patients enjoy in our office encourage them to take an active role in taking good care of their smiles for the rest of their lives."
She is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Great Lakes Association of Orthodontics and the Tufts Association of Orthodontists.
"My professional associations are a way to learn new techniques and keep abreast of the latest technology. But the other incentive is the knowledge of something that I may contribute will help put a straight, beautiful smile on the face of a child. That gives me great satisfaction".
When not working or spending time with her family, Dr. Kerr is an avid reader, enjoys keeping in shape and loves the volunteer work that she does. To name a few activities, Dr. Kerr travels to South Africa to build into the lives of families in poverty and suffering there. She helps children of AIDS victims and plants community gardens. Dr. Kerr also volunteers as the Sunday school teacher for the 5th and 6th graders.
"Helping patients is a natural extention of who I am, and feel so lucky to play this important role in my patients' lives. It's rewarding to give someone the gift of improved health and a beautiful smile, and I do my best to make every patient smile right here in my office."
